What a swirl of happy faces came together at our 50th reunion! However each of us might have felt before coming back to our home ground -- will we know each other after all these years? Will there be enough time to connect? -- the reward was immediate. Even as we checked in at the desk manned by Murney and Trish on Friday night, the magic spread. Open hearts and open arms all around, even if we had to peek at each other's name badges to know whom we're welcoming home. Sixty One (61) classmates attended, a record for HGHS reunions, along with 33 of our guests. We were also graced by the enthusiastic attendance of 8 of our faculty, including Jeanne Irwin who, at 92, proves that what she always said was always so -- yes you can.
So what now? Here's our hope:
* that we stay together and bring more of our classmates together via this website, which we plan to keep up and running indefinitely.
* that eventually all classmates will post their profiles. So, those of you who haven't - GET BUSY!!
* that everyone will use the website to keep in touch. Send your favorite photos to our webmaster, John Campbell, so that he can post them on the Photo Album page. Use the Message Board to share your thoughts. Use the Guest Book to send us your news, memories of each other, suggestions for the website, or whatever else you'd like to share.
To help keep us together, in addition to this website, we'd like to send out a periodic NEWSLETTER. To that end, we hope you will keep us up-to-date on your doings, either by posting them to the Guest Book on the website, or by sending them to Karen Lossing Kaufmann at 600 Clarence Ave, 2E, Bronx, NY 10465 or at Lossinginc@gmail.com. She looks forward to lots of newsy holiday cards and promises to put every tidbit into our first newsletter!
Until then, enjoy this stroll down memory lane and keep an eye out here for future plans.
